Recently while consulting on a website design and optimization project my client was not worried how the website would look or perform. It turns out that my clients bottom line concern was about how to get people to come their website once it was created, optimized, and online.
I proceeded to lay out a plan that would deliver traffic at an increasing rate if applied and implimented on a consistent basis.
1. For an initial burst of traffic I recomend implimenting Click Thru Marketing, a good resource to use is: http://wwwGoneClicking.com
2. Next you should submit your blog or website to Google and yahoo, 77% of people use Google so you must have your site submitted there first including your site map. It may take a few days before your blog or site shows up in the search engines so do not worry if on the first or second day your site is not listed.
3. Now you should start gathering back links and joining social networking sites such as FaceBook and MySpace, and tell people what your blog or website is about plus how it can help solve their problem. Go to Google and type in keywords that are related to your blog or website. Contact the websites or blog and tell them you would like to exchange back links with them. A good back link list numbers around 100 or more so it will take some time to establish however it will be worth it in the long run.
4. Make sure you optimize your blog or site for the keywords that you want to target.
5. Next, establish a Youtube account. There are over 40 million users that visit youtube every day. If you are not promoting your website with Youtube you are missing a lot of worthy customers and clients. Always use a catchy title for the video and advertise your video on other websites.
6. Another great way to drive people to your website is by using Google adwords. As an addition to Google Adwords you can also use Adsense to put your ads on other people’s websites which is an additional way to earn money as well. If you want people to come to your website sign up for Google adwords, it does not cost much and can return a greater sum than the amount you invest. Your ads will be listed on peoples sites containing content like yours and on the Google search engine itself! If you do look into this just sign up for a Google account and go to Adwords it can be well worth your money.

Goal Setting for Internet marketing is Essential for Online Business Success
Can’t see the forest for the trees? Too often a problem when we become non-focused or moving in every direction but the one we ought to be.
You know all get-rich-quick-schemes that spread like viruses all over the Internet, and those emails about receiving a humongous amount of inheritance from some African countries.
There are also countless other viable offers out there in cyber space that you will come across. Just don’t try to get into all of them at one time. It is difficult to stay focused on your objective because there are a lot of distractions out there.
Setting some goals can keep you on track. Here are a few ideas.
Break your goals into manageable steps if it is too big you won’t be able to absorb it or focus on it.
See if you can make your goal into short-term; medium-term and long-term goals.
Alternatively, see if you can break your main goal up into smaller goals which lead to the main one in time
For example: your goal is to make $10,000 a month from your internet business.
Chop that into a progressive goal.
Aim for $1000 a month for the first 3-6 months, then aim for $3000 monthly for the following 6 months, then perhaps $5000monthly for the following 12 months, with $10,000 a month for the next 18 months.
The smaller ‘achievable’ goals will give you results that can build your confidence – aiming too big initially can lead to discouragement and perceived failure.
Getting a realistic and more easily achievable goal – gives you something back – a result
Focus on Main Goals or Objective
Lots of people tend to lose focus when they are working on their businesses – online and offline businesses.
For example, let’s say that your goal is to achieve $1,000/month from Adsense on your site.
This means that the only activities that you ought to be doing are those that are geared towards how to make money from Adsense. Such activities may include driving traffic to your sites, adding good content consistently, being familiar with Google rules and tools.
However you and I both know this is not always the case. Sometimes Often, you might wander off browsing and participating in forum discussions about HYIP or Forex, which have nothing to do with your goal!
My advice is to only do those things that have a direct impact in helping you achieve your goal. As for the rest, you can forget about them, at least for the time being – file them away for later – for another goal that you will work on when this one is well and truly on track.
Set a specific dateline for you goal.
Simply knowing your goal is not enough, you need to set a specific dateline as to WHEN you want to achieve it.
Typically when we are asked when we are going to achieve our goals, our answers revolve around “as soon as possible”, “the sooner the better”, “next year”, or “2 years from now”, etc.
Do not use these words because they are too vague!
What does “as soon as possible” or “the sooner the better” mean? Tomorrow? Next week?
What does “next year” or “2 years from now” mean? January? December?
When you set a dateline, be specific. For example, setting a dateline like “5th September 2009″ works great because it is specific.
You see, our brain works a lot better if your goal and the dateline for your goal is specific
Remind yourself on a consistent basis what your goal is.
Often, we set our goals today only to forget about them in the next few days or weeks.
This is why you must remind yourself on a consistent basis what your goal is.
Write your goal clearly with a big font size on your whiteboard so that you can see it every day. If you don’t have a whiteboard, you can write your goal on your computer wallpaper or cell phone wallpaper, or just anywhere you like. The point is to make sure you can easily see it every day, so that you always aware of what your goal is and not lose focus along the way.
Inspire and motivate yourself
One of the best ways to inspire and motivate yourself is to find out the people in your niche who have already succeeded, and watch, listen, and feel their success.
How much money do they earn every month? What have they done with these money that they have earned? What have they done for themselves or for their families? What kind of lifestyles do they now currently enjoy?
When you are feeling down or frustrated and everything seems to not go your way, stop your work for a moment and imagine yourself having achieved success like these people. Imagine the money that you would have had, and the lifestyle that this kind of money would bring.
By doing this, you will recharge your “down” state so that you become inspired and motivated to work towards your goal once again. Eliminate all distractions while you are focusing on your work.
If you really want to focus on your work so that you can achieve your goal, then you should eliminate all distractions.
What I mean by this is that you turn off your Yahoo Messenger, Skype, MSN (unless you use them strictly for work purposes), Facebook, MySpace, your favorite non-work-related forum, Outlook, your cell phone, and of course your TV.
Why? Because they are total distractions in getting your work done for the day.
I’m not saying that you can’t casually chat with your friends or check your personal email or Facebook account, it’s just that you should set aside a specific time for these non-productive activities, so that they will not distract you when you are working.
By doing this, you are bound to increase your productivity,

Instead of spending big bucks to advertise in print publications and participate in other costly offline marketing venues, many businesses of all sizes are turning to free to low cost internet methods and strategies to invest their time, effort and branding for a greater outreach. Because for much less than the price of one print classified ad, a company can generate many more leads, targeted leads, with methods that are free to very low cost on the Internet, while responses from print campaigns, if any, are often not worth the return on investment (ROI) in comparison.
Some of the more popular free to low cost internet marketing methods out there today follow.
1) Free Press Release and Article Directories – Well written articles and press releases help draw targeted Internet traffic to websites. Simply insert a link in the body of the press release that invites readers to visit a website for a free report or other offer in the last paragraph, and add a similar call to action in the resource box or byline or an article. Then submit the press releases and articles to free online article directories and press release sites. Find them by entering keywords like, “free article directory,” in Google or other top search engine.
2) Hire Ghostwriters – Hiring someone to write content for your blog, website, article and press release submissions work is easy to day and inexpensive when you outsource your work to ghostwriters. Find experienced, qualified writers on freelance bid sites like Elance.com and on forums in your niche and in the Internet marketing arena, like at WarriorForum.com.
3) Establish a Presence at Free Social Networking, Bookmarking and Other Sites – There are many places online where you can register for a free account, set up a web presence there, often with the ability to upload digital media to share with others, post on a blog and more, while also networking with fellow members and / or visitors to the site, as they make comments on your content, share their info and more. Some of these sites are:
Squidoo
Hubpages
Blogger
WordPress
MySpace
Twitter
Find many more by searching Onlywire.com for starters. And sign up there to bookmark all your content for sharing with multiple sites and to learn more.
A couple points to keep in mind with these sites are: follow the rules at each, don’t spam and don’t go over board there. For example, Hubpages only allows two links to your sites, at the time of this writing. Don’t add three, trying to fake them out with an affiliate link. And don’t spam comments all over on other Hubs just to get links. This type negative activity can get you banned, your account closed.
4) Free Classified Online Ads – Search for “free classified ads” in Google and many sites show up. Some of the more popular places to submit your ads are:
a) craigslist
b) backpage
c) kijiji
d) gumtree
e) loquo
f) classifieds.myspace
g) expo.live
h) adlandpro
i) usfreeads
j) oodle
For help writing your ads and even submitting them and keeping them up to date on each site, consider hiring help, outsourcing with a ghostwriter experienced with sales copy, and a virtual assistant who can open accounts at each place, submit your ads and follow up as they expire to renew them, revise them, etc.
