I want to share some valuable information about how to avoid Search Engine Optimization stagnation and offer a no cost course on how to avoind costly SEO mistakes.  When a new web site owner recieves their website and they play around with it and tweak it (even if it’s a blog) usually nothing further happens aside from your standard marketing and advertising that most marketing professionals undertake.  Most new business owners just allow their site or blog to collect dust so to speak while they are waiting for customers to appear.

One of the prominent myths that guru’s perpetuate is that once your web site is published and functioning online you will experience instant success and that however is unfortunately not what happens.  That little fact is part of the big reason that millions of marketing and advertising courses are bought and sold every day without further thought into why a site or blog is not performing as anticipated.

*Caution* There are allot of consultants and companies out there that will charge you an arm and a leg for what they call search engine optimisation.  One thing I urge you to do is know what you are really getting and have a clear understanding of what the results of their actions will allow you to achieve because while it’s possible they’ve got the skills they say they have, a majority of the so called experts actually delivers anything of any real value unless you know what it is you want them to do.

Here are a few tips that will allow you to do it yourself or at least have a baseline of knowledge to know what you want for your site or blog:

1) Keywords: There are many sites on the internet that offer analysis of your web site, equipping you with a list of valuable keywords just do a search and you will find one that is right for you.

2) Sitemap: Make sure you have a clean sitemap for your website and submit it to the search engines.

3) URL Submission: Make sure your URL or website address is submitted to the top search engines available on the web.  Again, do a search for submission services or do it yourself to save some money.

4) Links: Add and exchange your link with as many sites as you possibly can in order to increase your chances of being found.  Keep in mind that you should first link with sites that share something in common with your area of expertise.

5) Directories: Add your site or blog to business and specialist directories on the internet.

Search engine optimisation takes time and results will vary, it could take up to 60 to 90 days or more to start to see results but you will and when it happens all your hard work will have been worth it.

Getting Customers to Your New Online Business

by TheMarketingProfessional

Congratulations, you have your website or blog set up and it’s time to start promoting what you have to offer.  You know that in order for your site or blog to be successful you must generate traffic and the more visitors  to your site that you have that means more sales and more money for you and your affiliates.

There are many ways to generate website traffic:

Pay per click is an example of paid traffic method.

But for a new internet marketer with limited budget often paid methods are simply not feasible. So you should think about getting free website traffic.

One of my favorite methods is to use a Click Thru Marketing Service like GoneClicking.com  GoneClicking.com - Drop A Line With The Pros and Start Reeling In Sales Today!

You should also submit your website to directories like: Yahoo, MSN, and Google.  Make sure you submit your site in the correct section of your niche.  Write articles and submit them to article directories with your site link in resource box. When more and more websites publish your articles, you will get as many back links and the visitors of that site may click on the link and come to your site.

Try getting back links from authority sites in your niche.  Back links means that your market place is giving you a vote of acceptance. When authority sites accept you, you will enjoy high rankings in the search engines.

Join forums in your niches and make some valuable comments and use your website link as your signature line. Before doing this make sure you read their rules and that you are allowed to do that otherwise you will be removed from the forum. Another advantage of visiting these forums is that you will know the pulse of your target market.

Once you have visitors at your site or blog make sure you capture their name and email address using an opt in form. There are many types of forms available.  Also keep in mind that a visitor may not buy from you on their first visit. Once you have his or her contact details, you can make offers that may be of interest to them. You can automate this process by using a reputable auto responder.  Currently I am using Aweber.

This has been a basic tutorial to compliment the previous post on article marketing, leave me a comment on what has worked well for you or if you have another marketing related question.

Always to Your Success,
