When you start an online business or start an internet business, creating your website takes a lot of work. You have to find the right domain name, purchase hosting, and create your website. Most of the time it falls together very nicely, but it takes time and a lot of research to get it there.
The most important things to consider is your domain name. The domain name is what people type into the internet to get to your site. Here are some tips that will help you make the right choice for your site.
Domain Name Itself
When you are thinking about your domain name you will want to think about which name to choose. If its at all possible, DO NOT, or even worse they may end up at someone else’s site. Some people think they need to put dashes or underscores in between each word, but that is not the case. If a person knows your business name, but not your website, they will usually try to type in your business name as a website to see if it comes up.
Using Keywords In Your Name
Keywords are important for your website when it comes to search engines. Make sure you have a keyword in your domain name. For instances, if you own a candle business, you may want to consider having candle in your domain name. This will help with searches as well.
Domain name extensions
When you think about all the websites you visit, most of them end in .com. However, there are many other extensions on the internet that you can use. You could purchase .net, .org, or .me. Think about this the last time you typed in a domain name that ended in .net, did you type in .com first? Sometimes it comes natural to type in .com. When it doesnt come up, we realize what we did wrong and correct it. With that said, make sure if available your purchase a .com name.
Multiple domain names
Another thing to consider is multiple domain names pointing to the same site. Some businesses think it is a great practice to purchase all of the domains that are the same. For example, if your domain name is susanscandles.com you may want to consider purchasing susanscandles.net and susanscandles.org so that you own them all. That way if someone types in susanscandles.net it will still go to you. Its also a good idea to purchase domain names that are close so you dont lose out that way either. For this example, you would consider purchasing susancandles.com and susanscandle.com.
Abbreviations or full words
Unless your business has a common abbreviation that people know, you should stay away from using them. Its better to use the full words because that is more likely what people will remember and type in for your site. You can always follow the tip above and purchase the letters for the abbreviation as well as the full words just to be safe.
There are many things you need to consider when getting a domain name. I hope the tips above help make the decision process a little easier. Good luck!

In our everyone wants to offer you something. Whatever it is, you can probably find it being sold on the internet. That’s why when you are looking at trying to buy successful online businesses you have to understand what defines a money maker, or one with the potential to make money, from a dud. There are many different elements to ponder when weighing the ups and downs of buying an internet business.
Here are some internet businesses for sale
Aside from the fundamentals described below, the most important factor is the historic sales and profits and the present trend the business is enjoying. You will have a greater chance of success with a online biz that is growing continuously than one that is perhaps falling like a rock. Some downtrending or flat sales sites have just been ignored and can bounce back, while others could well be on their way to demise. Be cautious to pour over the financials carefully.
One of the first factors to analyze for an internet business already developed is their visitor numbers and metrics. There are several unique analytics that fall into this range including:
• Unique traffic, which counts how many different people visit a site every day or week.
• Page impressions per person, which divides how many complete page impressions a site had by how many visitors it had, calculating how engaged and participatory visitors are on a site.
• Return visitors displays the percentage or number of visitors who come back to a site, which can be an projector of cultivating sales and being a trusted info source.
Another crucial element to weigh is the current search engine optimization results that an online business has been experiencing. Are they ranking on the first page of MSN for their targeted keywords, or the tenth page? Obviously, the higher the rank the more successfula website will be. And while you don’t have to be on the first page of results, anything beyond the 3rd page of results is going to take more effort.
Keep in mind that it doesn’t only matter where a website ranks in search engine results, success depends on how many people are seeking for a service and if there is probable room for growth. On the former, this is dependent on the power of the target market of a specific internet business. You have to contemplate the long term and short term trends for a product. Was the product a flash in the pan last year and currently is dwindling out, or is it progressively building momentum and more people are bound to be passionate about in the future?
buy a website business
Per the latter, you need to analyze the power of your competitors. If the product range of the website business you are focusing on is very competitive already and has many longstanding and entrenched competitors in their segment, you might not be able to gain much of a market share unless you have an cutting edge product that is a game changer. However, if the competition is itself quite new, or are mediocre, then your website can seize market share and control much sooner.
These are only a few of the most critical factors to take in to coinsideration when purchasing an internet biz or attempting to offer your own. Some fast research using available web analytic tools at your disposal can greatly improve your understanding of a business’s potential.

If you are thinking about making money on the web, then affiliate marketing is the way to go. For those of you who don’t know what affiliate marketing is all about, let me give you a brief introduction.
Affiliate marketeers get paid a commission for selling other peoples products. You don’t need to sign a contract, you don’t need experience and best of all you don’t need any money to get started. All you need is a computer with an internet connection.
The most popular products being sold by affiliates are info-products and software, because these products offer you the highest commissions (up to 75% per sale)!
How to get started? Choose your path:
1) If you have absolutely no money to spend on your ‘internet business’, that’s ok. It’s perfectly possible to make hundreds or thousands of dollars without spending any money. You’ll have to put in more work and time, but it’s the perfect way to get started, as you’ll learn the affiliate marketing basics. Most affiliate marketeers start out this way and a lot of them will continue using free methods of promotion throughout their online career. This free method is called ‘article marketing’ and it is very easy to learn. But you need a proven affiliate marketing plan to follow. There is so much information to be found on the net about affiliate marketing and a lot of it is just hot air. Eg: It’s ridiculous if you have to pay for a plan that will teach you how to make money for free!
2) You can afford to invest some money ($200 or less) in your new online business. Know that investing money means that you should get more back than you put in. If that’s not the case, your just wasting your money! But why would you invest money if you can do the same for free with article marketing. Well, it’s simple: to save time and make your business grow faster. You’ll get more done in less time!
Here are some of your options if you want to invest some money:
- Let’s say you have some experience in affiliate marketing and you want to speed things up: Do not invest your money in any kind of software, but in knowledge. Don’t buy fish, learn how to fish!!
In my opinion the best ways for marketeers with some experience are Pay per Click (PPC) and building email lists. If you do this right, these methods can earn you some nice money (hundred dollars a day or more).
However, if you want to give PPC a go without any previous experience and knowledge about it, this will probably cost you a lot more money than you put in and you’ll burn through your budget before making any sales.
The same principle applies here: get yourself a proven affiliate marketing plan.
If you have a budget of $200 and you want to spend it on PPC ads, but you know nothing about it, your money will be gone before you know it. But if you invest part of your money in learning PPC, then the rest of this money will generate a nice extra income for you!
- If you have no prior experience in affiliate marketing but you still want to invest some money to speed things up:
For people with no experience I wouldn’t recommend starting with PPC, because your lack of basic affiliate marketing knowledge will probably cost you money, not make you money! But that doesn’t mean you can’t put your money to work for you. A good way to do this is to invest in getting help from experienced affiliates that you hire to help you build your business much faster than you would by yourself. You probably think that this is expensive, and it is. But there is another way to do this: By joining a group of experienced marketeers who are dedicated to helping other affiliates (beginners and experienced marketeers) on the net. That’s what I did and it was the best decision I’ve made in my affiliate career!
Do you want to start without spending any money or do you want to start with PPC: My friend Guy Neyens has created a website with a specific affiliate marketing plan for everyone, including you!
BONUS: Guy is now offering the free ‘affiliate starter package’ with a value of $269 to get you started with article marketing!
Let me know if this helps you.
Always to Your Success,
Mark Edward Brown
