The Marketing Professional Reveals How to Avoid Holiday E-mail Hijinx

It seems like every goo roo, entreprenuerial expert and their mama have some kind of holiday give-away, festive firesale, or even the deal of a lifetime (gimme a break).

Despite all of the despicable hum bugery going on I would like to share something important with you.

I am going to be completely candid with you and just come clean, I have come to the realization that I have been making 2 critical mistakes in my email marketing efforts which has not only lost me business but also cost me allot of money.

I thought I’d share them with you, so that you can learn from my mistakes, become more of a marketing professional and get better results with your emails.

Now that I have figured out what the problem was and how to fix it, I want to share my mistakes with you so that you dont have to go the route that I was on.

If that sounds good to you, read on because here comes some valuable content that you wont want to miss.

Many marketers load up their emails with ridiculous phrases like:

“Oh my Gosh! I’ve got to get this off my chest before I explode! Finally revealed for the first time ever is this hot new killer system for sucking huge amounts of cash out of people’s pocket books!”

The problem with this type of writing is that it is downright obnoxious and it really doesn’t work.  It may have worked a few years ago when people weren’t used to seeing crap like that, but now days, folks just want to be talked to like a
normal person.

After finally figuring this out, I went back to square one and re-read some of my own email promotions and realized that I was guilty of the kind of putrid prose that makes me delete e-mails in a nano second. I’m glad I learned how to fix
this now, rather than later. Here is my second mistake;

This had to be the worst thing I could do. I would go off on a rant or a tangent and just try and tell my reader too many things at the same time.

When it came time for people to take action, they weren’t sure what I wanted them to do, because I had told them about 5 different products in the same message.

Take this lesson to heart… make your email about one thing, and one thing only.

You’ll be surprised to see how much more profit you can glean out of your client list.

I would like to share with you four other mistakes that I used to make and tell you who taught me how to correct my mistakes so that I could turn my losses into profits.

I got it all from Michael Rasmussen’s powerful VIDEO course called “Email Promos Exposed“.

It’s the only course of it’s kind, because it’s laser focused on teaching you how to write potent email promotions for every product or service that you sell (or that you promote as an affiliate).

The best part of all of this is you can see the video’s that I am referring to for NO COST!

This course goes WAY beyond all the crappy eBooks and free reports that are floating around the Internet right now.

Merry Christmas and Many More Profits in the New Year,

Mark “The Marketing Professional” Brown

Happy Thanksgiving from The Marketing Professional

The Marketing Professional's thank youAs The Marketing Professional I can tell you with certainty that the landscape of professionalism in online marketing has changed over the past year. I think it has changed for the better but it still has some room for growth and improvement.  I haven’t been as active with my content creation as I would have liked to have been due in part to my alter ego and career as a military leader.

I do want to say that I have a list of folks whom I want to thank for their impact in my life this past year:

Mark Joyner – the time spent with you as a consultant at Construct Zero was an amazing experience I will never forget.

Dan Moses – you are by far one of the most resiliant men I have ever met and I owe 90% of what I know about online traffic generation to you thanks for being a true mentor and friend.

Matt Bacak – I am in awe of your marketing knowledge and generousity thanks for putting on terrific events.

Ross Goldberg – thanks for your book and the advice, I am still reading and learning from it and owe you a review.

Nicholas McIntosh – you are a genius level marketer and one of my first international contacts, you are the reason I want to visit Australia.

My fellow marketing professionals in the web traffic generation industry, there are too many of your to name but you know who you are – I look forward to our continued promotional events, joint ventures and co-operation marketing arrangements.

I could go on and on but will not, this feels more like a good by post than a thanksgiving note, perhaps that is a sign of things to come…I just recently launched  and will be devoting more attention to building and developing it into the #1 Web Traffic News source in the world so stay tuned because there is more to follow on that subject.

Leave me a comment and tell me what and whom you are thankful for?

The Marketing Professional

P.S. – I did not intentionally leave anyone off of my list, it’s way past midnight on 26 NOV 2010 here in South Korea, mid – morning on Thanksgiving day in the USA.  Leave me a comment if I did forget and I will give you a shout out and make it right, I’m about half asleep but wanted to finish this blog post before I go to bed.
